Can you use FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) to break a Rental Lease?

My husband is very ill and I have applied for FMLA for my work to allow me to take intermittent time off, however we are currently in a rental lease and need to move closer to fmaily to help with his care. can i use FMLA to break our lease???Can you use FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) to break a Rental Lease?
Nope, the two things (Family leave and leases) are completely separate.

You only option is to ask your landlord nicely and hope for the best. Can you use FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) to break a Rental Lease?
No. The FMLA applies only to employers, not landlords.

Your best bet is simply to discuss the situation with your landlord. He'd rather have notice and a chance to get a new tenant lined up before you go than have you just bail and have the hassle of both re-renting the apartment AND suing you for money that you may not even have anyway.

Richard
no. Employers only in respect to terms of FMLA

Try working with your landlord
