I am being transferred at my job and my rental lease is not up does that get me out of it? I live in Michigan.

I live in Michigan and I am being transferred to Florida. I have four months on my lease and I am under the impression that a job transfer gets me out of my lease. I have heard this from multiple people inclueding someone that has done it.I am being transferred at my job and my rental lease is not up does that get me out of it? I live in Michigan.
Frank,

This should all be spelled out in your lease paperwork. Before speaking with your landlord, speak with your employer!

The average job relocation costs a company $50,000. I suggest you start getting help from your company. Bring a copy of your lease to Human Resources and/or ask about relocation assistance. Don't forget to ask for assistance finding a place to live.

If, your company cannot/will not help, then speak with your landlord.I am being transferred at my job and my rental lease is not up does that get me out of it? I live in Michigan.
A job transfer does not ';get you out of a lease'; unless there is a clause specifying that in the lease itself.

You remain laible for the rent until either the lease expires or a replacement tenant is found. The landlord can also hold you liable for any advertising costs or agent fees due to having to find a new tenant.

The landlord MUST mitigate his damages by attempting to find a replacement tenant.
No, unfortunately it won't. But talk to your land lord about your situation and also look for a replacement to take over your lease, if that would be acceptable to your land lord.
No it does not.The first person you should of put this to was your landlord, who may be nice enough to understand and,let you out of your lease.
Yes, a job transfer can allow you to legally break a lease. Just notify the landlord so he/she can get a new tenent in there after you move.
