Is it possible to get out of a rental lease?

I'm 6 months through a 12 month rental lease for an apartment in Dublin but I need to get out of the lease to move. Just wondering if anyone knew how I could go about this without having the money to just pay off the final 6 months. Is it possible to get out of a rental lease?
We've had to break our 6 month lease. There was no option but to pay the remaining rent. Luckily it is only a month. Our landlord would not budge and the letting agent got quite funny when we said we wanted to move out early. I live in Surrey if that helps. Is it possible to get out of a rental lease?
I would suggest finding someone to take over your lease for you, they can take the remaining 6 months, or choose to sign a complete lease.

Usually landlords are very understanding about the situation if you fill the spot for them, otherwise in the winter they may request an extra payment , etc for the difficulty of finding a tenant in this season.

Try sites like craigslist, the listing is free

put an add in your news paper for a sublet.

good luck!
Cooperate with the Landlord. Explain your situation and offer to pay rent and advertising costs until a suitable tenant is found.
